Welcome To Sociology of Religion, Spring 2011

This the instructor-student blog site for the class I teach at Ouachita Baptist University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas.  This site is where students will find additional reading and class materials and web links to the class materials.

As a student, your first activity is to open the Class Reflection Paper Page, read the posting which describes the book selection process, and then select a book that you will read during the semester.  The reflection paper and other related discussion of your book will be relayed to you during the semester.  I will set a date in early February, by which time you must have made your selection.  It is important that you confirm your choice of book with me before you purchase your book or begin reading it.  I will not approve the same book for any two students.  Therefore,  be sure that before purchasing a book you email me at rigsbyML@obu.edu with the name of the book you wish to read and receive my responding confirmation.  I believe all of the books included on this list have merit in relation to the material we will cover in class this semester.

Once we begin the semester I will provide you with instructions concerning what I expect you to consider in writing your reflection paper, the details of formatting, and the deadlines for various stages of the project.

More Later.  MLR.
